Half your team is in the room. Half is on Teams or Zoom. If the setup is wrong, the remote attendees are second-class citizens. Here is how to make it work.
Equipment Needed
- Large screen or projector showing the video call (so in-room attendees see remote faces)
- Wide-angle camera showing the whole table (not just the person nearest the laptop)
- Speakerphone or ceiling microphone that picks up everyone in the room
- Good internet — at least 50Mbps, ideally gigabit
Etiquette
- Everyone uses their own camera — even in-room attendees
- One person manages the chat for remote questions
- Repeat questions from remote attendees for the room
- Do not have side conversations that exclude the screen
At some Leeds providers, the Boardroom and Conference Room include video conferencing equipment, gigabit internet, and large displays. Book a room.
